Personnellement, j\u2019ai l\u2019impression qu\u2019elle existe depuis toujours alors que ce n\u2019est pas le cas.<\/p><p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">L\u2019historienne et musicologue Sylvie Bouissou annonce au cours d\u2019un colloque, organis\u00e9 \u00e0 Oxford en 1764, autour du compositeur fran\u00e7ais Jean-Philippe Rameaux, que c\u2019est lui le p\u00e8re de Fr\u00e8re Jacques. Bien qu\u2019il ne semble pas exister de partition sign\u00e9e, des \u00e9l\u00e9ments concordants et plus que plausibles ont permis \u00e0 Sylvie Bouissou d\u2019\u00e9tablir cette filiation. En particulier, Jean-Philippe Rameau \u00e9tait un grand sp\u00e9cialiste des \u00ab\u00a0canons\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p><p>En suivant cette th\u00e9orie de filiation, j\u2019ai pu aussi apprendre que les paroles que je connaissais de la berceuse n\u2019\u00e9taient pas celles \u00e9crites par Jean-Philippe Rameau. Je vous livre ici quelques indications \u00e0 ce sujet. Les paroles originales de la chanson font r\u00e9f\u00e9rence aux matines, premi\u00e8re pri\u00e8re de la journ\u00e9e liturgique, pour lesquelles un moine devait sonner les cloches en milieu ou en fin de nuit. Cette d\u00e9couverte m\u2019avait aussi frapp\u00e9e. On croise cette m\u00e9lodie chez Gustav Mahler dans le troisi\u00e8me mouvement de sa premi\u00e8re symphonie, sous le titre de\u00a0<em>Bruder Martin<\/em>\u00a0mais dans le mode mineur (R\u00e9 mineur pour \u00eatre plus pr\u00e9cise). La chanteuse Zazie nous en a aussi propos\u00e9e une version dans son album Totem. Mais Fr\u00e8re Jacques serait aussi un motif r\u00e9current, d\u00e9clin\u00e9 au couleurs rock\u2019n\u2019roll, dans\u00a0<em>Serafino campanaro<\/em>, titre enregistr\u00e9 par Mina Mazzini (alias Mina) en 1960. Il semblerait que si l\u2019on \u00e9coute attentivement\u00a0<em>Paperback Writer<\/em>, on puisse remarquer que John Lennon et George Harrison chantent Fr\u00e8re Jacques en arri\u00e8re-plan durant les derniers couplets. Enfin, le th\u00e8me de Fr\u00e8re Jacques aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9 par Sly and the Family Stone pour l\u2019ouverture et la fermeture de la chanson\u00a0<em>Underdog<\/em>\u00a0sur leur
